Since I had heart valve replacement in 1997. I used the bicycle and home treadmill until I started coming to the Kanza Wellness Center. Q. What made you decide to start exercising? Henry and Pat T. My sister was told by her doctor to do water exercises, and we said that we would go with her. Donnie W. Being retired and having open heart surgery. Darlien L. My doctor recommended it. Marilyn G. To try and help a chronic back problem with the water exercise. Don G. My cardiologist recommended it. |
Q. Describe your exercise routine or favorite activity.
Henry and Pat T. We do all the water exercises we learned from our previous instructor.
Donnie W. I walk 30 minutes a day on the treadmill and work 30 minutes lifting weights.
Darlien L. I try to go through the exercises that our instructor used to do.
Marilyn G. I prefer to do my own deep water jogging and stretches, and I sometimes finish up with a few minutes on the treadmill.
Don G. I prefer exercising in the water… However, I use the machines part of the time. I benefit by the warm water more because of arthritis from an old whiplash injury.
Q. Describe the results or progress you have made since exercising at the Kanza Wellness Center.
Henry and Pat T. We have been able to continue something that we all need to keep us functioning and keep our joints moving.
Donnie W. It has helped my blood pressure and blood sugar, and it gave me more stamina.
Darlien L. I try to go through the exercises that our instructor used to do.
